Westport to Sligo, Days 64-67

We left Westport at 9:30 am and headed out on N59 for about one km and then took small back roads for the next 15 km then took R312, the wrong direction for 5 km and then after being correctly directed by a farmer headed the other direction. After 35 km we arrived in Crossmolina. The ride was 54 km and EG of 1,750 ft.

From Crossmolina we had a great ride on N59 for the next 18 km then headed North on R297.  We stopped in Inishcrone at a seaside park and had our lunch then continued on R297 to Easky waterfront at the site of an old castle tower, just past our B&B.  We rode 42 km and EG of 850 ft.  We had bought food the night before for our lunches and dinners as there wasn't anything close by.

The next day we left Easky at 10am and headed west on R297 and after 6 km continued on a small road for another 15 km.  Then continued on small roads all the way to Sligo, stopping after 25 km and had our lunch at a side road.  We rode 46 km and EG of 1,500 ft.  It was a nice partially sunny and cloudy day at times, with views of the mountains, the bay, farms, hills, and lots of sheep and cows.

We have now reached the northern most point of our Ireland trip in Sligo.  From here we will head SE to Dublin.  We have also donated two more bicycles (for a total of 4 so far) to World Bicycle Relief:  https://worldbicyclerelief.org

"No I don't care what your direction says, I have lived here all my life
and Crossmolina is in the other direction."

Our hotel in Crossmolina.

Lunch in Inishcrone beach.

Our B&B in Easky.
