Pacific Coast Bicycle Ride - Day 8-11 Seasie, Nehalem & Tillamook

From Seaside south, the road started as nice and flat but soon ended in three major climbs. First one over a mile at 5-6%, the next two over two miles each and with 6-7% grades!!  The views were amazing.

The next day from Nehalem to Tillamook was a flat days ride with low clouds, fog, thunder, lighting, and one hour of deluge rain that soaked everything I was wearing.  The rest of the ride was cold in wet clothes with beautiful views!

Total Miles = 257,  Total Elevation Gain = 9,464 ft.

Arriving in Oregon

The Astoria bridge highrise at 170 ft rise, 0.8 mile & 6-7% grade.

Just before getting on the bridge where mighty Columbia opens to the Pacific.

Arriving in Seaside.

A wall of low clouds just off shore.

Looking back at Cannon Beach and Haystack Rock.

I’m standing at the overview where I proposed to my wife Anne.

A day of low clouds, thunderstorms, and deluge rain.

And scenic beauty
