We left Dingle at 9:30 am and headed back east on N86. My sore throat was getting worse but I had very good energy for the tough climbing day coming up to Tralee. We did the first climb to 270 ft then down and up to 405 ft.
After 15 km the highway headed north and started to climb up for the next 12 km to 625 ft. We had no rain and great views of the valleys and on the down hill, views of the Tralee Bay in the far distance. We rode 50 km total and EG of 1,660 ft for the day.
Just below the pass we stopped and had our picnic lunch. We had a 6 km downhill to the bay and then another 18 km to arrive in Tralee.
We had a tough night in Tralee as my sore throat got much worse and the test result indicated I had Covid. We stayed in that night and the next day and called around and were able to find a taxi-van that would take us North to Ennis by passing two days of riding with a 5 day stay to recover in Ennis.
We are now on the last day of recovery and will start riding tomorrow again, with Anne and I feeling much better, heading northwest to the coast.
