We left Luxembourg on very nice trails and headed south and were soon on back roads of northern Frane. Our first night in France was in Thionvile, where my architect friend Emmanuel Mercier and his family live. We had a nice visit over dinner at a lovely restaurant width them.
The next day we rode south along the Moselle to Metz. It was a great ride along the river and its canal.
It took 5 kms to get out of Metz and then a very muddy, full of potholes and water trail for 2 kms. The rest of the day was on paved trails through forests, and along the Moselle River for a lovely ride to Pont-a-Mousson.
