Thionville, Metz, and Pont-a-Mousson, Day 29 - 32

 We left Luxembourg on very nice trails and headed south and were soon on back roads of northern Frane. Our first night in France was in Thionvile, where my architect friend Emmanuel Mercier and his family live.  We had a nice visit over dinner at a lovely restaurant width them. 

The next day we rode south along the Moselle to Metz. It was a great ride along the river and its canal. 

It took 5 kms to get out of Metz and then a very muddy, full of potholes and water trail for 2 kms. The rest of the day was on paved trails through forests, and along the Moselle River for a lovely ride to Pont-a-Mousson.

Luxembourg City - Days 25-28

 We left Each-sur-Sure early on a flat trail but soon find out Anne had a flat tire which we fixed since there was river Sure close to find the puncture point!  After 2 kms of flat trail we hit the wall - a three kms uphill at 11 to 13% grade!  

Once on top were once again on a forest road with potholes, rocks, and gravel for several kms until we hit the valley and had lunch at a Tunisian restaurant before taking on the remaining 35 kms with weather changing between Sun and pouring down rain into Luxembourg City.  We had arranged to meet with friends for the next few days for dinners and lunches.
